modesty shred — people of the sea have
This photo records my first ever time going to a beach in Surabaya and almost taking the wrong road led to Madura while getting there.
It is rare for me to take pictures of people since I am too afraid that they would feel uncomfortable. However, I found a touching moment of three fishers talking with each other in an uneasy tone on that day. From what I caught, it felt like they were worried about the wind, boats, or anything else I honestly did not understand.
When I asked them to take a photo of them, they agreed with warm smiles scratching their faces. One of them added and felt slightly sorry about their appearance but looked unbothered, and the three fishermen just continued their dialogue. I was affected by how friendly their actions were and the pureness seen through their eyes while I began to set my camera.
Thus, below the sizzling sun of Kenjeran Beach, this sentimental photo was shot.
